Earlier this morning I released TVShows 0.4.3. I’m hoping that this release will iron out most of the existing bugs so that I can start focusing on new features, the interface, etc. You may have even noticed some of these changes already slipping into updates.
With that said, here’s the list of changes I made in this release. As always, please be sure to notify me of any issues you have or features you’d like to see. I’ll do my best to try and help you out.
Changes:
- Hopefully fixed a bug on OS 10.4 where 0 byte torrents were still being created. (Issue #11, #3)
- Subscriptions are now saved before updating the show list. (Issue #3)
- “Automatically check for updates” checkbox in the Preference window works again. (Issue #9)
- Window size/position and toolbar customizations are now remembered correctly. (Issue #2)

Hey Matt, 0.4.3 is working well for me now, although it seems to be unaware that last nights The Big Bang Theory was episode 03. Anybody else having that problem?
I left you a donation in thanks for your good work.

It looks like The Big Bang Theory S3E3 hasn’t been uploaded to ezrss yet. Instead there’s two different torrents for S2E2. Only one of them should have downloaded though.
Yup, last week it downloaded s03e02 and this week nothing. Anyway, I downloaded s03e03 manually, I suppose next week TVShows will get s03e04 (if it is posted on ezrss.it).
I’m still randomly losing the subscription list on my Tiger installation. I don’t want to open an issue because I cannot reproduce it, it seems to happen mostly when ezrss.it has the hiccups (for example, yesterday, I tried to force TVShows to download TBBT s03e03 by unsubscribing and subscribing again to TBBT, but ezrss.it was down so I couldn’t subscribe. I closed TVShows, and when I opened it again to try once more, my subscriptions were gone), but I don’t know.
I’ve had the same issue happen a few times during development.
Right now the show list and subscriptions are saved in the same file, but I plan to separate the two in a future version so that I’m positive this won’t happen.
I’m not sure if TVShows is deleting the show list file before updating (which would mean that you no longer have a show list if ezrss fails) or if the show list file is somehow becoming corrupt. Either way, I’m looking into it.
Nice!
Its great to have this app working again. Looking forward to see how things progress but that fact that it now “works” is great.
Thanks!
theres a typo in the posts title. it says ‘0.3.4′ – should be ‘0.4.3′!
